You must eat at The White Hart. All the dishes are thoughtfully put together with taste the main pre-occupation. At lunch time you won’t find a cheese and tomato sandwich ( well you might occasionally – but it will be delicious) – you’ll find pulled sticky pork with homemade fennel and spring onion relish; you’ll find Head Chef Katie Bradley making her own sour dough ( she feeds the base dough daily); you’ll find delicious soups and more warm crusty ciabatta. The café bar style by day time evolves into a cosy bistro by night and the food becomes more sophisticated to match. Taste remains king, current favourites include slow roast shoulder of lamb with rosemary dauphinios potato, purple sprouting broccoli red wine reduction. Down load the current menus from the food page. The vibrant evening bar is open until around 11.30, and a little later on summer evenings. The White Hart has five en suite rooms, and serves delicious breakfasts. The Pub can cater for private parties and events for up to 50 guests.
